I recently found this sketch in an old box.
It was in storage with a bunch of sketches. As I found it, it brought back a steady rush of memories. Sketches like these have stories attached to them. Everything from the time, place, the effort to get supplies, and the most importantly the journey to execute the work.
If you look, you can see that it’s folded across the top and bottom, it’s creased through the middle as well. This meant that it was folded up and sat in my back pocket. If you look closely, you can see writing, Purple, Yellow, Ht. Pink, Lt. Blu, Almond, those were my “Fill-ins”. The color choices that I chose to be the interior of the letters. I’d write the color scheme on the edges of the paper and the color pattern was already committed to memory.
These little nuggets are wonderful to find, as this launched be back to the early 1990’s, downtown San Jose, 11th and Taylor Streets on a Saturday afternoon.
